Description
This aftermarket replacement Vanagon LED side marker is a low-cost, low-profile, high-visibility, modern alternative to the expensive and outdated original German part.
The original part is actually a repurposed 1970’s VW Rabbit side marker, and is a terribly antiquated design. Our replacement is a complete assembly; there is no need to buy the bulb, bulb socket, and wiring harness separately.
This side marker replacement features a sealed LED (not a bulb) for ultimate weatherproofing and longevity. The housing itself is also sealed to keep moisture out!
Product features:
• Sealed LED and housing, instead of an incandescent bulb.
• Includes wiring harness.
• Fits left or right side. Sold individually. Two required per van!
• Direct fit. No new holes to drill.
Fits: All 1980-91 Vanagon models
Fitment Note
This Vanagon LED side marker has a footprint that is dimensionally the same as the original part and utilizes the same mounting holes in the body making it the perfect modern update for your classic vehicle. It sits nearly flush with the body and is larger than the LED side markers we used to sell, so it will cover any paint fading and discoloration that those side markers revealed.
- Reuse your original screws (if you need new screws, you can use 2 of these).
- Do not use the resistor that is included. Tuck it away or tape off the shorter wire connection.
- Cut the manufacturer’s plug off the end of the harness and use the supplied heat-shrink butt connectors for a positive weatherproof connection to the vehicle wiring.
- When stripping the original wire harness, ensure you cut far enough to expose clean, shiny copper. This guarantees a solid, reliable connection during crimping.
- Don’t forget to heat shrink!
