Exhaust Engine Mount Bracket Kit for 2WD Late-Model Volkswagen Vanagon

Description

This kit contains three custom-made brackets and all hardware needed to attach original 2WD VW exhaust headers.*

Background: On 2WD 1986-91 Vanagons, where the front (cylinders #1 and #3) OEM exhaust pipe passes under the engine block, there is a bracket that attaches the pipe to the engine block via three bolts. These bolts pass through the bracket and attach into stainless steel brackets that are attached to the engine block.
This kit is relatively easy to install, although no instructions are provided. Please view the additional photos to get a good visual of the installation.
Installation note:
• Every Vanagons exhaust set-up is unique. These brackets will need to be shimmed out according to how your exhaust is riding, so be prepared to add (or delete) some of the provided washers accordingly.
• Our new brackets are more simple than the original (read: not threaded). You must drop the bolts down from above before sliding the brackets in place on the block.
*Not required for 4WD Syncro vehicles, or our custom stainless steel exhaust headers!
